I wrote a guide showing how the Chamber/Vale/Smites/Unwanted could be cleared over two years ago for Mesmer, but many things have changed since then.
The major issue for a full run is Mesmers don't get as much duration on SoA (can't chain it properly) or an effective way to cover from spells. You could run a Mesmer for damage, I suppose, but it would be slower.

Exellent guide just what i needed to inspire me to brush off the farming gear ond enter the underworld again.
Another thing Just curious but how long did it take you to complete the quests on the full run in this post here :: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...53&postcount=5 That is very, very impressive i wish my 55 partner was a tad beter "dont tell him i said that" now that i have seen it with my own eyes i might just give a clearout a go with a friend and see how it goes...

I cleared UW 3 times, two in NM and one in HM. NM took around 4 hours (could easily take this down to around 3:30), and HM took 3:45
You could probably do either NM or HM in 3:30, but you have to run a different build for HM (see A Simple Farmer's thread about UW in this forum for the HM build)
---- UPDATE: I am currently working on a project called "The Mists" which will be a PvE-oriented website where we will host the most high quality guides, and post articles and keep everything up to date. We will also host competitive PvE events such as farming tournaments, speed runs etc. I am working hard on that website and once it is up, I will make a major update to this guide, by talking about 600/Smite builds and Hard Mode (55/SS is still more effective in NM, but impossible in HM). Also I will rewrite some sections (like Bone Pits and Four Horsemen). Stay tuned!

Absolutely brilliant, I love your guides Cerb...
I've cleared the Chaos Planes a couple times in the past, using 600/Smite and 55/SS, but I have yet to completely clear the UW. Looks like I'll be phoning up some old UW buddies to see if they're interested in piling up some ecto.
A quick question regarding Four Horsemen: Do the Dhuum Brothers act like bosses in that they have half hex duration?
Edit: any chance of adding a track list

Thanks
Yes, bosses in UW (Dhuums, Slayer, Terrorweb Queen) have half hex duration, but they do not give a morale boost or they recharge skills.
About music I guess you would have to name some videos because there are quite a lot of songs

Nice work cerb I see that you tend to favour the /Mes or /R and not /N or /W.I really wished I was good as you as I get nervous about going down there with complete stranger and the 1K if we die.I need a good partner.
I don't know the UW as good as you do never been through the whole place.

I have a question. Let´s say I just want to farm ecto´s and not complete all quests in UW, where would you suggest going to? Just regular Smite run? Thanks.

Clear the chamber and then the smites (along with Ice King quest). There's a video of that somewhere among cerb's stuff.

i have a question regarding equipment used by the necro... i understand the uses for the wand and offhand, and that the weapon and shield are for the 4 horsemen quest primarily.
regarding the staff. i currently have the stonereaper for curses builds and an insightful shadow staff of enchanting q9 Blood when i'm a BiP. will the combination of those two staves work for the one you suggest in the guide?
could i switch to the weapon of enchanting when casting BR on the 55 and then use the stonereaper for everything else?
thanks for all the hard work done by everyone who contributed to this guide. it has made my runs 4 times as successful and we've been able to complete unwanted guests, escort of souls, and servants of Grenth quests, free the reaper of ice and forgotten Vale, and get into the chaos wastes every run.
